| Ukraine needs no mediation to resolve crisis - ministry
KIEV, April 6 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine needs no outside mediation to resolve its political crisis, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Friday. The statement came a day after Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych said he had asked Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer and other Western officials for assistance in resolving the crisis. "Ukrainian Foreign Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk made public the ministry's official position on April 5 following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council that no decision has been made on the mediation request to settle Ukraine's internal political crisis," the ministry said. Yatsenyuk, President Viktor Yushchenko's ally, also said Thursday that although Ukraine highly valued the international concerns over the situation in the country, non-interference in internal affairs of a state was a fundamental principle of international law.
Amicus awarded recognition at printers
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 16, 2007 -- The Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) has declared a binding decision on printing company G & H Web Offset Ltd in Liverpool to recognise Amicus for collective bargaining rights. The CAC ruled that the company must recognise Amicus to represent its members for collective bargaining following a membership check that showed that over 77% of the workforce were union members, well over the 50%+1 required under legislation. Commenting on the CAC decision Amicus Head of Organising, Bernard Rutter, said: "This case should have been settled without a CAC hearing given the high level of union membership.

I have to listen much. I have been inspired by the works of Fisher and Ury, notably Getting to yes. This book explains that a good agreement is one, which is wise and efficient and which improves the parties' relationship. Mediators use appropriate techniques and skills to open, improve dialogue between disputants, aiming to help the parties reach an agreement (with concrete effects) on the disputed matter. Normally, all parties must view the mediator as impartial. Mediation can apply in a variety of disputes. These include commercial, legal, diplomatic, workplace, community and divorce or other family matters.
